This painting was printed in McCall's Magazine, April 1929, for a serial titled "The Romantic Prince," by Rafael Sabatini. It is included in the N.C. Wyeth Catalogue Raisonne on page 522. It is signed at upper left and inscribed to the father of the current owner, the father being a former employee of Beck Engraving Co. The painting has never been made available to the open market since it came into the family's possession.
