Walker, John Hanson

John Hanson Walker is considered a portrait painter from London. He was born in England in 1844 and died in London in 1933. Walker was a friend of Lord Leighton (Baron Leighton of Stretton), 1830-1896. With Lord Leighton encouragement and assistance, John Hanson Walker developed a very distinct style of portraiture. His wonderful portraits show a significant in influence of his master, Lord Leighton.

Walker became a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London where he exhibited his portraits and an occasional genre scene.
