Martinez, Adrian

Adrian Martinez was raised near Washington D.C.  In the late 1960’s, he was awarded a scholarship to do post-graduate work in London.

Upon his return to the United States, Martinez devoted all of his time to painting.  He forged a strong reputation for himself in galleries in Fort Worth and Houston, Texas.  Martinez has served on the faculty of Purdue University and was an exhibit designer for the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth.

Currently the artist and his family reside in their nineteenth century home in Downingtown, PA.  The house has become a showplace for Martinez’s murals, as well as his “trompe l’oeil” style paintings.

Although the artist’s oeuvre consists primarily of still life paintings, he is also an accomplished printmaker and portraitist.

His paintings can be found in many public and private collections, including the collection of President George Bush Jr.
