Weber, C. Philipp
1849-1921

C. Philipp Weber was born in Darmstadt, Germany, on June 28, 1849.  He was a student of Kreling's in Nuremberg and studied with Paul Weber in Munich.

The artist came to the United States in 1887, settling in Germantown, PA.

Weber was primarily a landscape artist.  His early work is in the tradition of the mid 19th century German painters - carefully drawn, richly colored, and romantic in subject.  He exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1880 and 1881, and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1890.

The artist died in 1921.
