Croft, Lewis Scott
1911-1980

Lewis Scott Croft was born in Chester Basin, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1911.  Mainly self-taught, he studied briefly with M. Denton-Burgess in Vancouver.

Croft has exhibited in important national and regional shows in Florida and New York.  He has also had one-man exhibitions in Tampa, New Orleans, Brooklyn, and New York City.

During his professional career as a painter, his work has been awarded thirty-two prizes, half of which were top awards.

A number of colleges and private collectors have acquired his paintings, typically in oils or watercolors.

His memberships include elections to Allied Artists of America, Nova Scotia Society of Artists, and Contemporary Art Group of the Tampa Bay Area.
