Colao, Rudolph
1927-

“Rudy” Colao was born on December 26, 1927, in the United States.  He studied painting and drawing at the Art Students’ League of New York with Frank DuMond, Edwin Dickinson, and Robert B. Hale.  While at the Art Students’ League he won the 1954 Frank DuMond Scholarship for painting.

He is a member of the National Arts Club, the Artists’ Equity Association, and the Hudson Valley Art Association. 

Colao has exhibited at the Southern Vermont Art Association; the American Artists Professional League; the National Arts Club, New York; Fitzgerald Gallery, New York; Newman Galleries, Philadelphia; and the Hudson Valley Art Association.

His paintings are represented at I.F.A. Galleries, Washington D.C.; Quadrangle, Dallas, Texas; Fontainebleau Gallery, Miami; Shadowbox Gallery, Glen Cove, New York; Marbor Gallery, Cold Springs Harbor, New York; Palm Beach Gallery, Palm Beach; and the LeBron Gallery, New York. 

His paintings have won numerous awards and have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the country and in traveling shows.
