Edwards, Lionel Dalhousie Robertson

Chiefly a watercolor painter of horses, hunting scenes, and historical subjects, Lionel Edwards was born in Clifton, England. 

He studied art under A.S. Cope and Frank Calderon.  The Royal Cambrian Academy accepted him as a student in 1926 as did the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolor in 1927. 

The artist published several books, including Hunting and Stalking Deer, 1927; Huntsmen-Past and Present, 1929; and Famous Foxhunters, 1932. 

He lived in Wiltshire for many years where he often painted with friend and fellow sporting artist, Denis Aldridge.
