Purviance, Cora Louise

Painter and teacher Cora Louise Purviance was born in Philadelphia in 1904.  She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts under tutelage Hugh Breckenridge.

She was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors.  Purviance exhibited her work at the Academy in 1930 and at the Plastic Club in 1931.  The artist was warded a Gold Medal on both occasions.
